great find

yesterday, after office, my officemate/friend and i went to pick up my order at Memory Lane Store. My officemate/friend knows how to get there so she was my guide. besides, she loves stamps and stamping so she wanted to see the items in the store too. i was so surprised when we get there coz it was my first time seeing that much scrapbooking and craft supplies! the store is bigger than Craft World in Megamall and their collection is HUGE!

But what made our trip there much much more exciting was when Ms. Nita, a designer at My Studio Azul, arrived. She was soooo very kind to introduce to us all of her very very useful tools. It all started when i asked the saleslady, Ms. Janet, on how to take good care of my MS Doilypunch. Ms. Nita heard me and she started giving us very good lectures on scrapping. She opened up my eyes on a new level to this wonderful world of crafting coz the store has all the tools and stuff to back up her free tutorials! Me and my officemate/friend already has a long list of things to buy when we go back to the store.

I've found a lot last night but i limited myself to the following coz of my budget and i prioritized the "sale" items first too.

my order - a Hero Arts stamp set for Christmas

Coluzzle Kit - a new tool introduced by Ms. Nita. I bought this coz i still don't have a cuttlebug/nestabilities to cut shapes. This is much more cheaper than cuttlebug and this will do for now.

a Php50 stamp and a white ink pad. the sticker set was a freebie.

a cute alpha clear stamp set that was on sale. ^_^

lovely! ^_^

Have a happy weekend everyone!

i heart weekends!

hello everyone!

how was your weekend? ^_^

my hands were quite full last weekend. last saturday, we catered to our childhood friend Zeus' wedding. it was lovely! i was able to click some shots during the reception.

during that time, we were also catering to my niece's baptismal in another location. my sister was the one assigned to attend and oversee the catering there. my brother was assigned to oversee both. while dear BF was assigned with me at the wedding too. lovely!

On Sunday morning, i was able to create this ohhhh so cute! camera hugger for my dear Hoseal! see? i sooo love the colors of rust and olive on his black D40. yay! so happy!

in the afternoon, my dear BF and i painted a sign for my father's coconut seedlings for sale. it was a simple sign coz we only have white and black acrylic paints but we had a blast painting and installing it for daddy. ^_^

and then we had a mini get-together dinner with my high school friends! oh how i missed them all! we had sooo much fun and laughter that evening! i just wished there were more of us. here's our group pic taken by my dear BF that night...

on monday, my dear BF and i took a dip at the pool before lunchtime. it was very hot that day so the clean and cool water of the pool was very much appreciated. plus, we had the pool to ourselves that time. so wonderful! ^_^

too bad we couldn't play here 'coz of the scorching sun. the swing almost fried my butt when i tried to sit.

on the other news, Ashee is pregnant! the bump on her belly is visible now and we can hardly wait for her to give birth next month! happy!

and here's the late post of the 2nd commissioned scrapbook album ordered weeks ago. ^_^

tgi friday!

happy friday everyone!

DBF and i are going to Laguna this long weekend. Yes! it's a long weekend once again! so happy! ^_^

but before that, we have an errand to do after office. we need to buy flowers from Dangwa. it is a very lovely place. i love going there even if i have to carry all those bundles of flowers on foot. i want to bring the D40 there tonight so i can share with you the beauty of the place. but it's not mine to risk so i'll just have to let DBF make the decision if he's gonna bring it or not.

on the other news, i'm proud of myself last night coz i was finally finished organizing the documents in my laptop. hee hee. and now, i'm 25% done in organizing my photos. so YaY to me! ^_^

ooohhh... i also want to share this wonderful promo i availed of last Tuesday. Coz you see, i once tried having this facial at Forever Flawless sometime in May (before my trip to Coron). and it ruined my skin. :( i didn't use any moisturizer, sunblock, or night cream for my face after that. my skin hasn't recovered yet after that failed facial. so when i got the chance to pass by Rustan's Gateway last Tuesday, i went straight ahead to Clarins. i've tried Clarins moisturizer 2 years ago and it suited my skin. people around me noticed my skin back then. so i decided to buy that product again. It costs Php 2,700.00 now. Plus, i get to receive a night cream from the saleslady as a freebie. But i wanted more freebies like the same number i got 2 years ago ( as in i got lots back then), so i haggled some more with the saleslady. hee hee. then she decided to give me some packs of their make-up base. and when she saw that i was about to use my Red HSBC card, she offered me a promo. :D Who doesn't love promos? all girls love promos! even if it would costs us more, don't we? ^_^ hihi ok so here's the promo - i buy 5000 worth of Clarins product and i will get this lovely red pouch with lotsa Clarins goodies in it! Plus, they offer 0% interest for 3 months! So i grabbed it! and i do not regret a bit of it. ^_^ happy!

here are what i bought (moisturize - 2,700 and sunblock - 2,400) ...

and here are my loot !YaY! ...

so happy! i got a pouch, a toner, a peeling lotion, 2 night creams for me, a night cream for mommy, a foaming cleanser, a cleansing gel, a moisture-rich body lotion, 2 other body products, and lotsa packs of make-up base! ^_^

i hope that after a month or 2 of using these products, i'll be able to get my skin back the way it was 2 years ago...

Have a happy weekend everyone! ^_^

new lens

my DBF has been on ebay everytime he's in front of the computer searching for a good deal lens for his D40. and this morning he found one! DBF met the seller this 11 am to exchange the lens. it is a Nikkor 35mm series E, with a UV protector.

i used his Nikkor 50mm in taking these shots.

he was so happy! and to celebrate, i bought a caramel macchiato for him!
here's my take using the new lens...

we'll have lots of fun exploring this new lens when we get home in the province this weekend! can hardly wait!

print and dine

yesterday, after office, my dear bf (DBF) and i went to SM Tayuman to buy an office printer for our restaurant in Laguna. We bought Epson Stylus T10 for a change. we've tried Canon and HP already. I love Canon but it has expensive ink cartridges. HP has cheaper ink cartridges but i don't like its adapter. Once the adapter's gone, the printer's as good as dead too coz the price of the new adapter is the same with a new printer. So this time, we chose to try Epson. I can't make a review of T10's performance now coz i haven't tested it yet.

after buying, we decided to eat at Kenny Rogers' which is at the ground floor of the mall. We used the stairs on our way down. Which is a good thing for 2 reasons. First is for a better health because walking is good for the body. Second reason is you'll be surprised at what the stairs has in store for you. Last night, we got paid to use the stairs! Coz i found 200 pesos at the bottom of the stairs! nobody was around that time and it would be foolish for us to approach anybody and ask them if they used the stairs and dropped a 200 peso bill. So we just took it as a gift from the stairs! ^-^ happy! so here's where it went...

It's been a while since we last dine at Kenny's. and we were surprised to find that they added sandwishes and some new products in their menu. My DBF picked his fave Solo B - a quarter roasted chicken, rice, 2 sidings, and a muffin.

I chose their new Burger Steak.

The burger was grilled too and it's simply delicious! It was a bit greasy but the taste is good. Maybe the friendliness of the staff that took our order also added to the enjoyability of their food.

We were such happy and satisfied customers! ^_^

after dinner we went home and found my cousins savoring their glowing lollipops. the lollipop was sooo cute! we played with the glowing handles and took some photos...

and i love my cousin's shirt too! look at the bear and it's texture! aren't they (cuz and shirt) lovely!?! too bad i wasn't able to perfect the focus on this shot...

i would love to have a cute shirt like that too! ^_^

a secret

Ola!

I wanted sooo much to open my own little online business selling handcrafted items. and my dear boyfriend helped me realize it by helping me think of a cute name. For now, we are still in the process of creating our logo. and while doing so, i continue creating items to put in our little store. I'm dying to give you a sneak peek of some of the cute products we'll be selling but I just can't yet. ^_^

For the meantime, to keep your minds off the secret i've told you, i'll just share with you a little dessert that i am enjoying right now. ^_^

My dear boyfriend and i went to my dentist a few minutes ago to have my molar extracted coz it's been aching since yesterday. unfortunately, my dentist wasn't available. So we stopped by Starbucks to buy my favorite frappucino.

soo yummy! i love the sweetness and all the choco bits!

and we also bought a slice of Banana Cheesecake to go along with the frappe.

it tastes soo good! my fave pastry in Starbucks is their Banoffee Pie. but after tasting this cheesecake, i'm gonna have two faves! i just love bananas. and Starbucks perfected their craft of creating luscious and heavenly banana desserts. ^_^

a rainy weekend

i decided to stay in Manila this weekend to do some research on my thesis. It's september already and i haven't started writing my 3-chapter proposal yet. So yesterday, saturday, i did a little bit of research. a little bit coz i spent most of my day with friends in Quiapo! it was such a lovely day having to buy all the threads that i've been longing to buy all week. yay!

it was raining and we didn't have umbrella as we strolled the streets in Quiapo. but we didn't care! ^_^ i enjoyed having to try some second-hand lenses for kool's (my dear boyfriend) D40. he wanted to buy a good deal lense that day and i was looking for a good deal polaroid. unfortunately for me, there was no polariod anywhere in Hidalgo. but we found a shop that sells nikon film camera with manual lense that only sells for Php 3,500. kool wanted the 28mm lense attached to the old nikon cam but i told him to find a better deal. in the end, we weren't able to buy anything from the camera haven in manila. but we didn't leave Quiapo empty handed coz we had a bunch of threads and a dozen dvds to watch for today (Sunday)! yay!

last night, we started a series titled "The Legend of the Seeker" and i love it! It was based on Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. The book of course is better but the tv series is still interesting. i can hardly wait to continue watching and finish season 1 today! ^_^ oh and i finished 2 coffee huggers last night while watching. and i hope to finish some more today. ^_^

have a happy sunday everyone!

love,
ails

p.s. i found this on etsy and i wish i could have it coz the buyer says it actually works! i just have to research first if the Polaroid 600 format film is available here in Manila.

oh wait...
there's more...

both from here...

and this one's cheap and working too...

from here.

hayyy... time to go back to reality. lovelove, ails

power interruption

i just want to share...

i got home tonight and found our compound in total darkness. so after preparing dinner and savoring KFC chicken in candlelight, I played a bit with my DBF's D40. here's my fave in the batch.

i heart weekend!

i received a text message last Friday night that we had no work today, Monday, because Malacañang declared September 7 as a national day of mourning for the late Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) leader Bro. Eraño 'Ka Erdie' Manalo. so Yay! thank you Malacañang i was able to rest and spend more time with my self and my family! ^_^

my weekend has been quite productive. I left my laptop in Manila so i won't be tempted to spend my rest days in front of the computer. i crave for more physical activities during my rest days coz i spend 70% of my regular weekday in front of the computer. besides i have lots of paper projects to work on in my little craft room.

here are my projects i was supposed/able to accomplish over the 3-day weekend:

1. i had to make a dozen cards for different people's birthday this September unfortunately, my heart was elsewhere this weekend so i ended up making 0 card. :(

2. a last quarter planner for my dear boyfriend with pages to suit his needs. he requested something functional and not cute but i just couldn't resist myself from using colors so the inside looked a bit girlish. my DSIL and cousins liked it that i ended up having a new set of orders for the holiday season. i had soooo much fun doing this last sunday!

3. a commisioned scrap album for a new born babe. (pic to follow coz i failed to photograph it. and i left it in the province for the buyer)

4. crochet. i always carry thread and crochet needles in my bag so i can continue working on my coffee huggers while travelling (waiting for the traffic to move especially). last weekend, i was able to finish a couple huggers while watching tv with my family after dinner. and on my way to Manila a couple of hours ago, i gave them to 2 of my cousins celebrating their bdays this september. i need to buy more spools of thread!

5. our family portraits. i bought 3 woodblocks in Quiapo 2 weekends ago for 90 pesos and i plan on painting our family portraits on them. i painted the wood blocks white for a start. then i drew my parents, my sister, and my brother with my new sister-in-law on paper. my sister saw the drawings and she liked them specially the drawing i made of my parents. i wasn't able to transfer my drawing on the wood yet though. i'm excited to finish them!

6. invitation designs. a friend of my sister loved the cards i made and posted in my fb account so she chose me to be the maker of her baby's baptismal invitation. YaY! i wasn't able to create the invites but i made a drawing of her lovable family and am hoping that she'll like it. ^_^

on other news...

i wasn't able to swim last weekend coz it was raining cats and dogs. so i played in the rain instead with my sweet Mojito! so fun!

tgi friday!

yay! it's friday once again! it's my most favorite day! friday is the start of the weekend meaning it's that time of the week that i get to relax, go home to the province, and create a lot of stuff in my little room. it also means spending time with my family and our 2 little babies - Ashee and Moji! so excited! even if it means no blogging or facebook during weekends. so i'll just be seeing you all next monday. ^_^

how about you? what's your most favorite day of the week?

p.s. cuteness is still in at 30. i made this cute little coffee hugger. ^_^

have a happy weekend everyone!

p.p.s.

I was browsing through Nichole's new post and followed a link to a story about a family's special project in improving a local school in their home. The story is very inspiring and makes me wanna spread more love and blessings to everyone. Follow the Travelingtribe and be touched by their story too.
