quick update

Hello!!!

how have you been? it's been a while since my last post. i have been very busy painting the pages of my life that i couldn't squeeze in some minutes to update my blog. but i never miss reading and hopping on my friends/inspirations blogs whenever i get the chance to go online.

for a start, i'll just share these HolyCUTE! giveaways i'm praying to win this
weekend...

from elsiecake. isn't she the sweetest? ^_^

anyhoo, i learned a new skill this week. Yay! For a day, I was taught the basics of Barista! Happyness! ^_^ Preparing a cup of specialty coffee was fun and awesome! If i could only buy my own espresso machine, i'd really put up my own coffee & crafts shop. ^_^

Second update: i enrolled again this sem. I got a penalty course already for exceeding the Maximum Residency Rule. and for that i took EDSP 231 - Adjunctive Therapies coz i believe it'll help me become more confident in teaching. Plus i learned that i still have to get 3 units more of Foundation courses to complete my MA. So i took EDFD 247 - Values & Education hoping that it's a bit easier than the first one. ;-) So I took 6 units this semester excluding my ongoing thesis. No, i am not trying to kill myself. I am merely trying to prove that even with an 8-hour, 5 days-a-week job, i can still manage to complete my required subjects and finish my thesis outline (chapters 1-3) by January 2010! whew!

Finishing my MA is one of my priorities right now. It's one of my major goals and i would really really rejoice when i'm through with it. What's sad about this though is that enrolling in 6 units this sem would only mean laying low on creating lovelies for my Little Arty Indie shop. So by the first week of December, I need to finish all the Holiday orders then concentrate on my academics once again. but this does not mean i will stop creating. i couldn't do that. it's like the cinnamon on my french apple pie. my life will be hollow and bland without it.

third update: is still a bit of a secret. *wink* coz it involves not just myself but also my very best friend! if you're super close to us, then you should know by now what it is. if not, you'll learn about it soon. hihi what makes me excited is that it's becoming more realistic now. so happy! ^_^

okay, that's it for now. i gotta rest for another busy day ahead. nyt nyt lovelies!

Happy Monday!

Ola!

It's Monday and I'm back to work. It would have been lovely if my work is my hobby - crafting. But it's not so i try to make the most of my time enjoying work by surfing my fave blogs from time to time, especially now that Facebook has been blocked in the office.

Little Arty Indie has been very busy last weekend. As you all know, LAI is no other than me and my dear Kool. ^_^ We were able to print 251 shirts yesterday in under 4 hours! Yay! We're getting better and faster with every batch of shirts.

LAI already received a lot of orders and I just want to list them down here so I won't forget. ^_^
  • 13 Coffee huggers (WDPL - for Christmas)
  • 42 Coffee huggers (JL - Nov 15)
  • Gift boxes for the 40 Coffee Huggers (JL - Nov 15)
  • Handcrafted cards for George's baptism (last week of Nov or 1st week of Dec)
  • T-shirt Printing (SR - December)
  • T-shirt Printing (AR - December)
  • T-shirt Printing (MR - December)
  • T-shirt Printing (MTVA - December)
  • T-shirt Printing (AF KMAC - Nov 30)
  • pending number of Coffee huggers for Ate Elai's
I also received an order for a Camera Hugger for D60 but I had to turn it down coz I don't have a mold for it. :( *sad*

Aside from that order list, I also have a to do list for Christmas. It's getting nearer and nearer and I can already feel it in the air. And every time i get chills from the cold wind of this "ber month" i am pressured for not doing the things on my list! It's really hard having an 8-5 job plus your own little online shop of handcrafted items. But I am definitely enjoying every challenge that we encounter. ^_^

my Smena

i'm so sorry but this is a late post.

I received a package last Friday (Oct 17) and it's one of the things that make my heart pump a little faster. hihi. I just love presents!

This time, i received a camera straight from Russia!

My DBF bought it on ebay. It is so beautiful! I got to play with it last weekend. Happiness! ^_^

I'm just so happy that this is pure mechanical so i won't have to worry about batteries.

For my first film, I'm glad that I got 15 pics from my 12-shot film. Unfortunately, the photo lab (Photoline - The Block, SM North) didn't print my photos as is and also ruined my negatives. But nevertheless, I'm still so over excited seeing my first shots from my new 'old Smena' *giggle*

Here are some of my shots from the scanned negatives coz these look much better than the printed ones...

wrong focus ^_^

lovely and fun-filled weekend

This weekend, my dear BF and I have been very busy learning the process of silk screen printing on our own. We searched and watched the process in You Tube the whole week, and I'm proud to say that we were successful on our first try! Yay! DBF made this T-shirt design for our restaurant. I was thankful my mom approved it right away so last saturday morning, we started creating our frame. We used photo emulsion to impress the image on the silk screen. We were quite surprised and happy that all went well and so easily. We realized that we didn't really need to attend a 9.5k workshop to learn this stuff. we just needed to try and experiment on our own. We made 96 t-shirts in 4 hours. So happy!

This project is part of our Little Arty Indie shop. Our first customers in Silk Screen Printing are mostly my relatives. hee hee. Coz you see, my aunts (and Mom) are all businesswomen and every Christmas, they give T-Shrit giveaways to their customers. We have 800 more shirts waiting in line. Plus some umbrellas and canvass totes too. We'll be very busy every weekend coz we only print in the province.

What i love most about this project is that my BF and I had SUPER FUN doing it! ^_^ my parents were so proud of us that they even call other prospective clients to hire our services. hihihi aren't they sweet?

On the other news, I finally get to see Ashee's little babies last Friday!

They melt my heart! They are so tiny and fragile and sooooo super cuddly! But I didn't touch them when i first saw them coz i had colds. I was thankful that yesterday (Sunday), I was back to being healthy again (maybe because of too much fun silkscreen printing last saturday) so I finally dared eneter their makeshift home beside our house. My dad doesn't like pets inside our house so my brother made this makeshift home for the little pups. Ashee can jump over the gate when she wants to roam around but we always discourage her coz you see, no one will look after her little pups except for my Mojito, who is their male neighbor. but Ashee is a "Jeproks" mom according to my mom coz she loves roaming around on day time. hee hee. we think that she sometimes forgets that she has little puppies waiting for her tender love and care. he he But she is a very sweet little mom during the night coz we never see her leave the pups in the dark. Ohhh... writing all these makes me miss them soooo much that i want tomorrow be Friday again... :(

hugs,
